Jacques Pierre Joseph Rode is my full name. I’m a violinist born in Bordeaux, France on February 16, 1774. But I didn’t live there my whole life I traveled to many places.This picture well describes me because I was a violinist and as we can see I’m holding a violin.

This is a picture of Giovanni Battista Viotti. He was a italian violinist and composer. He was also one of my first violin teachers. He gave me free lessons. Also had pieces he wrote that he let me be the first one to perform.

Now we know I was a composer. So this is a piece that I wrote between 1798–1800. It includes 3 movements I. Allegro [giusto?], II. Adagio, III. Rondo. The piece last for about 20-25 minutes and is in the classical genre. The name of the piece is Violin Concerto No.4.

This is a picture of Napoleon Bonaparte. He was a french military and political leader during the French Revolution. He asked me to play the violin and tour with him on his voyage. This all happened in the 1800 on his Baudin expedition. I went and ended up being his personal violinist.

This is the methods book that was wrote. Me, Rodolphe Kreutzer and Pierre Baillot all wrote this book. We wrote this during the time we worked at the paris conservatoire. This method book is a violin method book.
